Our Story

Jean-Cyril School

This is the story of a meeting between a French family and a Cambodian family, united by a shared conviction: Education is the only way for disadvantaged children to hope for a better life.

A common project

The project was initiated by a Cambodian man. But it was his meeting in 2010 with a French family, touched by his generosity and enthusiasm, that allowed the school to come into being.

The rapid growth in the number of students, their incredible motivation and the total absence of NGOs to help this very vulnerable population led the French founders to create an association.

This organization assists the Cambodian team not only financially, but also pedagogically.

Jean-Cyril School today

The 15 children gathered under a simple tarpaulin in 2010

today there are nearly 500 of them, aged between 6 and 18 years old.

The young, inexperienced teachers of the early days have given way to a team of teachers working constantly with volunteers to improve their teaching methods.
